Welcome to the BMFA 2025 Juried Art Show

The BMFA’s Juried Art Show highlights and promotes artistic excellence in South Georgian Bay’s Visual and Fine arts and beyond. We accept submissions from both BMFA members and non-members. The show highlights artists’ work in all visual arts mediums and awards cash prizes for the show categories named Adult 2D/3D and Digital Art and Student 2D/3D and Digital Art. The show is adjudicated by professional artists/art professionals from the South Georgian Bay Area.

Key Dates:

Submissions Open: Wednesday, January 29th, 2025
Submissions Close: Sunday, February 23, 2025, at 12:00 am
Online Jurying: Monday, February 24, 2025, to Wednesday, March 5, 2025
Notification to artists of acceptance to gallery show: Friday, March 7, 2025
Intake of art for the gallery show: March 28 and 29, 2025
Show opens: April 2, 2025
Award reception: Sunday, April 6, 2025, from 1:00pm to 3:00pm

Important Entry Information

– You can submit a maximum of 2 original works of art,
– There is a fee for each entry
– Only entries submitted online will be evaluated by jurors,
– Digital Art means the art has to be created 100% on a computer or tablet. Altered and manipulated photographs will not be accepted,
– Not all art submitted will be accepted to the gallery show. Acceptance is based on juror evaluations.
– The gallery show will be at 65 Simcoe St, hung in the hallway,
– One crisp clear image should be uploaded for each entry. Image size not to exceed 2Mg and 4000 pixels on the long side,
– Photos of your art should be submitted as they would be viewed hanging on a wall.,
– If your art was selected for the gallery show:
2D and Digital art will need to be ready for hanging with a wire in the back and finished edges, Sawtooth hangers should not be used, only use D-ring hangers. The size of your work cannot exceed 9 sq ft / or 8361 sq cm,
3D art – “Free-standing work must be of a weight and size to allow it to be moved by a single person, dimensions may not exceed 1.5 cubic ft / 0.04 cubic meters and will need to weigh less than 10 Lbs or 4.5 Kg
