Plein air painting is a great way to enjoy the outdoors, but painting outside can be challenging! Instructor/Artist Heather Smiley will cover key concepts and practices of plein air painting with a focus on making value sketches to simplify busy scenes and establish composition prior to painting. Each class will include discussion about effective compositional techniques, demonstration and practice. Additionally, we will look at plein air gear and supplies. Open to all skill levels eager to explore outdoor painting.
