BMFA's 1st Painted Barn Quilt

Hi Gayle and Susan,

Gayle, I was at the BMFA yesterday and saw the quilt.  It looks wonderful!  Sue helped me take it outside so we could stand it up and get a photo of it.  The ground was a bit uneven so there is the gap in the middle.  Anyway, you get a good idea of the size of it and how great it will look on the barn when it is photographed.

Thank you to Patricia and you for doing the painting of this quilt.  I will keep you posted as to when it will be installed.  We want to have a few of them installed all together to keep costs down, so it won't be happening too soon.

Happy Holidays to you and your families.

The Simcoe County Heritage Quilt Project

The BMFA is one of five art hubs in Simcoe county that are working together with the county (they are underwriting it with the help of Dulux paints) to have 150 painted quilts erected on barns throughout the county. Each hub is responsible for 30 painted quilts over the course of the project. This began as a Canada 150 project, but with delays in a number of areas it has been slow to gain momentum.

Attached please find an "Expression of Interest" form, which is your application to take part in this project. Please email your application as directed in the form to Simcoe County, or bring it to the Arts Centre.

For more detail about this exciting project, please follow this link: If you own a barn, or know a barn-owner who might be interested in being a host for this project, please see This Barn Host Application.
