Susan Mogelin

A gift of oil paints at an impressionable age sparked Susan’s love of colour, tex-ture, form and function. Formal education included Settlement Studies and several courses in Fine Art at the University of Guelph; however, as life moved on, the luxury of painting was unattainable. A decision to leave business ownership and a busy life in the south has provided an opportunity to rediscover the joy of messing about with paint.

Susan has has studied with Linda Bester, Bonnie Steinberg, the Haliburton School of Fine Art, John David Anderson and has benefitted from the mentorship of Studio XX and Peter John Reid of Owen Sound ON. Most of her work is representational or impressionistic. After a season of painting the various curves of canoes and kayaks, Susan began experimenting with abstract art. The journey continues.

Susan’s work has been selected for juried art exhibits at:

  • The Tom Thompson Art Gallery in Owen Sound
  • The Southampton Art Gallery
  • Meaford Hall Galleries
  • The Desmond Juried Art Exhibition, Ridgetown
  • The Blue Mountain Foundation for the Arts (BMFA), Collingwood.

Her work has been exhibited at the MacDonald Stewart Art Gallery, in Guelph, and at library shows in Collingwood and Paisley, ON.

Susan is currently a member of the the Wasaga Artists, and the BMFA in Collingwood, ON.
